Meet Ms. Hall!

About Me: Hello, students and parents! I'm Ms. Hall, and I'm thrilled to be your 12th Grade English Language Arts teacher here at Boys and Girls High School. With a passion for literature, a love of language, and a dedication to nurturing young minds, I'm excited to embark on this educational journey with you!

Educational Background: I hold a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from CUNY College of Staten Island and a Master's degree in Adolescent Education and Instruction Grades 7-12th from the same institution. My academic journey thus far has equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to create a dynamic and engaging classroom experience.

Teaching Philosophy: My teaching philosophy centers around fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed. I believe that literature is a gateway to understanding the world and ourselves, and I aim to instill a lifelong love of reading and writing in each of my students.

Classroom Approach: In our ELA classroom, you can expect a mix of creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. We'll explore classic authors such as Williams Shakespeare and Nathaniel Hawthorne and contemporary texts as well, dive into thought-provoking discussions, and sharpen our writing skills through various projects and assignments. My goal is to help you become not only skilled communicators but also confident and independent learners.

Contact Information: I believe in open communication and collaboration between students, parents, and teachers. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please don't hesitate to reach out.
