About Me:
Hello, students, parents, and fellow educators! I am Ms. Cruz, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Boys and Girls High School family as a High School Special Education Teacher and English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher. I am passionate about providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.

Education:
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Ashford University, and I continued my education with a Master's Degree in Special Education, specializing in English Language Arts, from Brooklyn College. My dual expertise in ELA and Special Education equips me with a unique set of skills to meet the diverse needs of my students.

Teaching Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy revolves around the belief that every student possesses unique strengths and abilities. I am dedicated to recognizing and fostering these talents while providing the necessary support to overcome challenges. In my classroom, we celebrate diversity and emphasize the importance of empathy, respect, and teamwork.

What to Expect in My Classroom:
In my ELA classroom, students can expect a dynamic and engaging learning experience. We will explore the beauty of language through literature, writing, and critical thinking. I strive to make the subject matter relatable and exciting, encouraging students to become lifelong learners and confident communicators.
In my role as a Special Education Teacher, I am committed to individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction. I work closely with students, parents, and fellow educators to ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space where every student feels valued and empowered.
